Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) with BioMat
Prism Bodywork now offers Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) with each massage using my new BioMat. The BioMat is installed directly on the massage table so my clients can enjoy the healing effects during and long after their massage.
About BioMat
Underneath the top sheet of my massage table is now the most relaxing and rejuvenating heating pad ever made: the BioMat.
In addition to generating a Pulsed Electromagnetic Field, Its adjustable heating element offers a range of temperatures - from a gentle warming sensation, to penetrating heat that reproduces the effects of a sauna during your massage.
Amethyst The BioMat features 28 pounds of amethyst stone, which converts the mat's conductive heat into far infrared light so it can get into all your sore muscles and warm them up.
Far Infrared Light Very long wavelength light is called Far Infrared Light. Because of its longer wavelength it can penetrate more deeply into the body's tissues, warming and rejuvenating as it goes.
Photon Light Unlike far infrared, photon light therapy has a shorter wavelength so it doesn’t penetrate as deeply. My BioMat has photon light emitters all along its length for full coverage of the body during you massage. When photon light is absorbed by the body, it forms into nitric oxide. This stimulates synthesis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is essential for the metabolism of all cellular regeneration.
Negative Ions The BioMat also generates negative ions, which produce biochemical reactions in the body that improve feelings of overall well-being. Using the BioMat for just a short time leaves your body relaxed and refreshed.
About PEMF
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) is relatively new in the medical community, but it is already gaining popularity. Exposure to Pulsed Electromagnetic Field for jus a short time can produce many physical benefits in the human body:
Relieves Muscle and Joint Pain. PEMF promotes an increase in general wellness to help the body with reducing pain level after new injuries, while recovering from surgery, and with minor chronic issues. In 1993, a study conducted at the International Pain Research Institute concluded that brief exposure of affected areas to PEMF therapy resulted in significant pain reduction.
Increases Blood Circulation. Researchers at Wake Forest University found that PEMF stimulation can be applied locally to increase vasodilation in an area of the body, resulting in improved circulation to that area.
Helps with Arthritis Pain and Stiffness Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most common chronic inflammatory diseases worldwide. If you are one of the millions of people living with rheumatoid arthritis, you have likely struggled to find relief for the painful symptoms of joint swelling and inflammation. In a 1998 study published in the Journal of the Indian Medical Association, researchers determined that PEMF therapy can alleviate painful symptoms of RA
Helps Relieve Symptoms of Depression PEMF has no known side effects, unlike antidepressants where the largest concern is the amount of side effects. Psychiatric researchers in Denmark determined that PEMF therapy, in combination with antidepressant use, caused significant improvement in treatment-resistant patients’ symptoms, with minimal-to-no side effects.
